Memorial Maintenance - Oil on Skatedeck
This was done for a charity auction for the Warren County Skate Park Foundation Auction. I had so much fun painting it, I bought it back... it was a bidding war between me and John Bracken's mom. She and I had no idea either one was bidding, but we kept topping each other... as in all auctions, when the gavel falls, you own it. So I still own it. Abraham Lincoln was an obvious choice for me since I'm a Yankee in the South. He doesn't have as much respect as Lee and Davis down here, so I have him schlepping around the Lincoln Memorial Grounds with an old-school Yard King Rotary Mower in downtown Washington DC. No respect, as Dangerfield would say. Nate Rhodes owns the original sketch. When I get tired of looking at this piece, I'll put it back on the auction block.
