Computer Delusion, oil on Strathmore Museum Board by Paul Zdepski
This is for a story about the education system relying on computers to teach students everything from language to social interaction. In the late 1990s, libraries were tossing out their card catalogs, slashing staff and book purchases to go digital. The story was more about the need to strike a balance, which we eventually seemed to do. My subject sits on his head with his ass growing ever wider. My nephew sat on a deflated basketball of my photo reference… no, his ass isn’t that wide or the plumber’s crack. This was part of the 1998 Ely group. It currently sits in my flat file waiting for a proper frame.
